GA High Level Dialogue on Financing for Development Postponed

The Second Committee of the General Assembly has formally agreed to postpone the 4th High Level Dialogue on Financing for Development with a few to setting new dates no later than 11 December 2009.

Member States adopt Resolution Strengthening Financing for Development at the UN

During the General Segment of the Substantive Session of the Economic and Social Council (27-30 July 2009), Member States adopted a resolution aimed at strengthening the role of the Financing for Development process at the United Stations.

 On 23 July, 2009 at Palais de Nations in Geneva Switzerland, members of the Global Social Economy Group (GSEG) along with UN-NGLS, organized a side event to discuss both the outcomes of the UN Conference on the Crisis and the strengthening of the Financing for Development process.

    Fourth High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development Postponed

    The Second Committee of the General Assembly met today Thursday 19 November, and agreed to postpone the Fourth High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development, originally set to take place on 23 and 24 November 2009, with a view to establishing new dates no later than 11 December 2009.

    The General Assembly, in its decision 63/564 of 14 September 2009, decided to hold its fourth High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development on 23 and 24 November 2009 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
