UNDG: Thematic Papers on the MDGs & MDG Good Practices Publications

In advance of the High-level Plenary Meeting on the MDGs from 20-22 September 2010, the United Nations Development Group (UNDG) has released a set of resources to feed into the discussions of the Summit on how to accelerate progress on the MDGs based on country level experiences.

The Thematic Papers on the MDGs, addressing seven of the Goals, provide an in-depth analysis of successful strategies, factors underpinning progress, critical gaps, and a summary of key lessons and future measures conducive to accelerating MDG progress under different conditions and country circumstances. The papers drew on the ideas, experience and advice of a considerable range of UN agencies and experts, including from Non-Governmental, academic and other sectors.

The MDG Good Practices publication is a collection of over 200 good practices which seek to address specific constraints and challenges in achieving the Goals. This publication provides ample evidence of the different approaches to achieving the MDGs and the importance of recognizing the synergies between the MDGs and the Internationally Agreed Development Goals.
